Over the past few weeks we’ve seen a trend on Facebook that we thought needed addressing (and no, we are not pointing fingers at anyone in particular. As we said, this is a trend, so there are a few offenders out there. Think of this as a friendly PSA).
What we’ve noticed is that many of you like your company’s Facebook status from your company pages. There is nothing illegal or uncommon about this scenario—it actually happens very frequently. But when you really think about it: wouldn’t it be obvious that you like the status, because you were the one who posted it? Imagine how this might play out in the real world—you wouldn’t make a comment to a room full of friends and then agree with yourself, right?
It is perfectly acceptable, however, to like your company’s status from your personal page. We wouldn’t suggest doing this for every single post, but every now and then it shows that you take an active interest in the happenings of your workplace.
